Alison Jones, Business Manager at Tonyrefail Community School was faced with a dilemma. Three of the school’s main water dispensers were dysfunctional, with no prospect of correction.
Moreover in 10 days her school was due their Estyn (OFSTED Wales equivalent) inspection.
Sixteen inspectors would descend on TCS for four days, examining every possible aspect, hydration facilities included. The failed units were bound to feature in a school which led by headteacher Gareth Pope prided themselves on the highest standards
Offered no support by their suppliers, Alison was put in touch with Hydrachill at the recommendation of fellow RCT school Saint John’s Aberdare, themselves delighted by their recent Hydrachill investments.
What followed was a series of meetings and communications which made even the remarkable look ordinary.
Alison and colleagues were immediately attracted to the prospect of TCS custom branded refill stations, in particular the space efficient Mural wall mounted units and as flagship near their main canteen, a Regenerated 2-in-1 Hydrachill, already proving themselves popular at other South Wales schools.
Facing the near impossible, customised units in 10 days, the Hydrachill team set about the task. Colleagues at production, branding, completion and delivery all willingly buying into the challenge.
The result less than seven working days later (eight if you count the Sunday installation), three shining new beautifully TCS branded Hydrachills, successfully installed and commissioned one day ahead of inspection!
“What the Hydrachill team delivered was above and beyond our expectations” said Alison, four exhausting inspection days later. “The Hydrachill machines are both stunning and functional, already popular with the pupils. We’ll certainly be looking to add more, with a community project also in mind. Less hurried next time, hopefully!”
Quite right too Alison, miracles usually take a little bit longer!
